March 3, 2025
On Feb. 25, 2025, St. Philip’s College (SPC) student Julianna Lujan was recognized as the AlamoPROMISE Student of the Month, highlighting her academic excellence and commitment to her community.
Julianna, a Brackenridge High School graduate, is pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Motivated by her parents' unwavering support and sacrifices, she chose to pursue higher education at SPC, where she serves as a peer mentor in the CASE building.
One of her proudest achievements is maintaining a 4.0 GPA during her first year of college, an accomplishment she once thought impossible. In recognition of her dedication, she was awarded the Presidential Endowed Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year.
“Julianna’s ability to engage and deliver customer service to students is absolutely exceptional. She is a great person, great peer leader, and top-tier communicator,” said James Cooper, Director of Career Services.
Julianna contributes to her community by volunteering at St. Clare Church and assisting her mom with a career readiness booth at the University of the Incarnate Word. She credits her parents as her greatest role models, saying their wisdom, patience, and guidance have shaped her perspective, teaching her that patience is key to navigating the demands of college and life.
“When there are challenging days, I remind myself that I am obtaining an education not only to grow and be a successful, independent woman who doesn't have to rely on anyone else,” she said. “I’m also doing this to repay my parents for their sacrifices along my journey. My parents are the people who motivate me to keep pushing through.”
